The Project for the Promotion of Integrated Management and Economy of Solid Waste (PROMOGED) was officially launched on Thursday, June 24 at Mbeubeuss, a giant landfill in the municipality of Malika, a suburb of Dakar.
The Project for the Promotion of Integrated Management and Economy of Solid Waste in Senegal is part of phase 2 of the National Waste Management Program (PNGD), with the support of the World Bank and the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID).
The project aims to improve the functioning of the solid waste management system in local communities through the installation of collection equipment and the construction of solid waste treatment facilities in the targeted localities, and then the strengthening of the capacities of the actors for a sustainable management of the selected management system.
