The Mbeubeuss landfill is still in operation and will remain so until new infrastructure for the treatment and burial of solid household or similar waste is built. The new approach of the project foresees a progressive rehabilitation of the Mbeubeuss landfill linked to the implementation of sorting and composting infrastructures. The operation to rehabilitate the Mbeubeuss landfill aims to :

• rehabilitate the site;
• to store in full environmental and sanitary safety the non recoverable waste during the rehabilitation works phase;
• sorting and recovering in material and in compost the recoverable materials
